Look for the local market to find regional treasures. All places have one of these stacked away from tourists, but the shopping is worth the hunt.

Also when buying something, don’t buy it just because it is on sale, buy only those things that you need. Do compare the prices in different stores and of different brands and then go for products that are cheaper and of decent quality. Sometimes same things cost much more in high end stores than they do in your regular neighbourhood store, so make the smart choice.

Try not to indulge in impulsive buying. Enter only the section where you need to buy something from, roaming in the store will fuel the impulse to buy more things than you need. Make a list of all the things that you need before going to the store and keep writing the prices of the products next to the items on the list. Keep a pocket calculator with you and keep a check on how much you are spending.
